warm-sun, cool-tent, tasty-beer camping

loving the curiosity/energy/wonder/instantaneous smiles of three brothers

the harmony in music and laughter

tender, hours-old deer meat (and my recent awe- and ew-inspiring field-to-palate education)

frog-leg frying

and, now, missing the freedom and camaraderie and sunshine and bonfire and especially the tent mate

madeline

today i met a 4-day-old girl who makes sweet little purrs when she sleeps and looks strikingly like her big sister.

right now

riding my bike around my little town last week, i was feeling serene and happy and *right* and came across this memory.

it reminds me of a place in puerto viejo, costa rica, that i also fell in love with and had those same happy-time feelings about.

that's partly it, i am finding myself falling in love in my hometown with the same things that were detracting me for many years. things not so ridiculously meaningless like the look of a street, the feeling of a street, but more the feeling of a place, the calm and this-feels-right about where you are right now.

separately, i've been seeing a lot of movies since i joined netflix. this is both peculiar and feels-just-right. how i love dark independent films.

good night now.
