This year's Halloween party/treasure hunt came packaged with a weekend of camping at our pretty tree-filled state park. Yes! We unexpectedly (and very happily) acquired a mascot (yes, that's a real bear), had a blackjack table (we camp in style), got some of the most adorable trick-or-treaters (and even had candy to give them), cooked chili - among other things - over an open flame and celebrated fall, friends and family in the clear, chilly autumn weather. I miss it already.
Crushing on the sun flirting with the moon
loving on the stars and trees
We camped locally for Labor Day, here in our hometown, here at our lovely state park we sometimes take for granted. It was easy, fun, relaxed, and full of laughing. It rained, it brightened. The post-hurricane storms kept most other campers away, with the exception of the woman who camped with her (leash-trained) cats.
Thankful
... for local peaches and 'cream' in the form of yogurt. Next time I'm going for the real thing.
... for my revived/ing fern. I have trouble with ferns.
... for impending rain.
... for all the pretty little things my mother leaves behind.

Summertime
As much as I (more often than not) feel a little pang of sorrow when I finish a book, I do love exploring some options for my next summer read. Poolside.
Hand-Me-Downs
The unexpected bounty of helping a sister clean her closet ... I love having three sisters who all pass clothes around. Sometimes I get a familiar-looking article I remember owning years and years ago. Today, I got myself four *wonderful* pairs of perfectly (whether loose or fitted) fitting jeans, three pairs of dressier pants, and a new (previously full-length) pair of rad shorts. Score.
